Articles

As a student at Mississippi College, I wrote for my college newspaper, The Mississippi Collegian, for two and a half years as a reporter and editor in chief.

From August 2020 to March 2021, during my senior year, I was a freelance writer for the Jackson Free Press, a news magazine and website serving readers in Mississippi's capitol city and beyond.

During the summer of 2022, I interned at WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa as a digital reporter, writing and editing stories for the TV station's website. This internship was worth course credit for my master's in journalism.

I started writing for Lagniappe Daily, a weekly newspaper and daily website covering Mobile and Baldwin counties in south Alabama in August 2022. My beat includes Africatown, a community founded by the survivors of the last slave ship to enter the United States, the Eastern Shore in Baldwin County, the Alabama Legislature and features on Mardi Gras and local history. In 2023, I wrote a series of articles about a Catholic priest from Mobile who fled the country with an 18-year-old young woman.
